Projects

These are the projects that I recently created using Adobe Software a year ago so that you know what kind of ideas would be needed to succeed in becoming a graphic designer.

COVID-19 Quarantine Survival Manual

Key Features: My stylized zine covers the eight important tips for having possible mental health during a COVID-19 quarantine two years ago. (AAD-0062)

Details: Each page has the same layout and font but with different color palettes, which boosted my creative knowledge a few months ago. Also, all of the images from the zine are from one source named Google, so I can find the best one to put in order takes some time.

Technical Specs: Adobe Illustrator

Goal Alignment: In my future career as a graphic designer, I will be using Illustrator to make my new manual to guide my relevant information to myself in the past. This project was a great start towards publication design since I achieved one of my goals to get my brain fueled even more on a growth mindset, and I created some effort to remember each of them quickly without forgetting. Also, I would wish every student would be able to master health benefits, in case they would stick to the routine and eat diet foods during exercise every day.

Date of Completion: Fall 2021

Capitol City Food Bank Logo

Key Features: Redesigned vector-based logo with two color concepts to support the food bank in the Little Saigon Community from California. (AAD-0061)

Details: Since poverty is a major environmental problem, the Capitol City Food Bank has all the health opportunities the Vietnamese people need to change their lives in all communities by giving healthy foods to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow in California. This logo was a symbol to support the community by having love and passion, which is relevant to providing clients with foods they enjoy and sustaining traditions for years to come.

Technical Specs: Adobe Illustrator

Goal Alignment: In my future career as a graphic designer, making logos from Illustrator would be the best way to generate a wide range of creative efforts and represent my brand to my intended audience. Even though logos are used in various ways, either on different platforms or in multiple formats, they have some elements that can be identified quickly to communicate their objectives to possible clients daily. I hope that I will bring some healthy foods for modern Vietnamese people living in California, especially since they opened up a food market recently for a few days so that I would care about them every time to make health plans live longer and continue to grow forever in the Little Saigon Community.

Mental Health Editorial Illustration

Key Features: A significant and neat illustration to show support from eating healthy foods that work with the brain using mental health. (AAD-0062)

Details: This project was meant to create my supportive illustration for a selected article I chose earlier in one of the phases. We all know that eating fruits and vegetables is more important to increase mental health than physical health so that we can live our life better and continue to let our brains grow for a lifetime, especially when we are happy and achieve some possible skills.

Technical Specs: Adobe Illustrator

Goal Alignment: In my future career as a graphic designer, I would create more editorial illustrations that best suites the main idea in each of the articles I chose so that I would have time to have some elements floating around in my brain by having significant knowledge to make the audience react to one of them. For example, if I found an article about physical health from soccer and basketball, I would have time to make an editorial illustration with details explaining what this article is all about.

Johnny Mathis Concert Poster

Key Features: Poster for Johnny Mathis's upcoming concert using a method appropriate for the artist's existing brand and best reach their audience. (AAD-0062)

Details: This project was meant to practice achieving different methods to inspire the singer's life into action by having the most emphasis on one of their songs and the feelings most related to the general topic of the concert.

Technical Specs: Adobe Illustrator

Goal Alignment: In my future career as a graphic designer, I would design the upcoming concert poster after researching many resources, which help me to have promotional imagery from my favorite singer I know about from the past years. Many ways to express themselves follow a specific kind of theme in their visual material. However, the best way to make one of these posters is to use the understanding in album design depending on the musical genres, so I would want to know which color palettes, mediums, and layouts that are suitable to have inspiration coming out of my ears.

Cohort 52 Collage Exhibition Postcard

Key Features: An exhibition postcard with all the design elements highlighting collages from publication design students in an aesthetically pleasing way. (AAD-0052)

Details: This project work was meant to advertise the intended audience to participate in a collage exhibition on an online platform called Cohort 52.

Technical Specs: Adobe InDesign

Goal Alignment: In my future career as a graphic designer, making a postcard that looks harmonious with the color and shapes can be the best way to use Adobe InDesign in the upcoming years. If I can have one of the new elements I would use to make a postcard more interesting than last time, then I would use the color palettes that evoke different feelings in my intended audience to support the qualities as a creative expert which serves as a counterpoint to my collage art book.

Date of Completion: Spring 2022
